Look a different species!

In my little world, striped hyenas don't have stripe patterns on their fur, they are tattoos. The spotted hyena's spots will be explained at another time. This, though, is the African hunting dog. In my little world their crazy fur pattern is actually tribal paint. :)

This little guy's name is Mbwa Mwitu which is Swahili for the African hunting dog. Original, eh? He's on stilts going through the savannah and something has caught his eye.

Next up will be the Golden jackal, the Tibetan fox, the dingo, and the Fennec fox.

Oh and many thanks to ~thekillingroad for helping me with the perspective! And hey, who requested this as a print? Someone did that for the Rook and the Dove one as well. I wish it would tell me who...

Dusk on the Savannah caught my eye because of the small flits of light and the angle coffinberry chose for her composition. She's given us just enough information to add a sense of wonder. (Featured by `cooley)

Their stripes would make really cool tattooes.

Also, OH GOD THIS IS AMAZING. I love the glow, his dazed expression is great! The markings on his face is my favorite :>

OHMG.

You have other species too?

I have to say, the lighting is very good. Makes it more magical, with a bit of the traditional african landscape.

[Have you read this book called Pinduli? There's striped hyenas and cape hunting dogs in it.]

Wow, this is so cool. Must fav. The concept of the crazy fur pattern being tribal paint's pretty interersting. I like it.
