These people are the ones Mishenka goes down to the Great Temple to study under. They all have the same haircut and dress, and most have earrings, this is due to the gods they worship. But, the time down there was not entirely kind to Mr M Sedov. Before he left, he was cruelly attacked by Pyotr, who informed him of what he believed were the 3 Tiers of Society. I'll spare the first two as the don't really apply right now.

Now the third tier, are the misfits of society. The ones who can't function within. The idiots and the mentally ill, the ones without skills needed to improve their lives. Tier three people are usually placed into specialty homes to rot away or act as 'visionaries', while people in the first and second tier pay for it. Worthless people! And if they're capable of somewhat normal thought and action, they're stuffed into the church where they can pretend they're important without having to actually work! Why, most of these people are like you, Sedov. Do you not see how fucked up the people in the church are? You must admit that you're not destined for anything more than a hillside church priest, right? Am I right here or what?"
