When I do commissions I keep another window open - I call it my sketch pad/warm ups where I go and draw sketches and whatever of my own stuff while my brain detaches from the commission itself (kind of like walking away from the image, coming back and seeing what's wrong with it then fixing it) Then I wind up with a page of possible future images to suck inspiration from.
This is one of the sketch pad things. And holy LOL at the arms. I think that at some point this may evolve into a more finished piece when his arms decide to proportion themselves. but how to make it more impacting? I'll throw this into the critique section for input on that. do you do thumbnails where the image evolves? or do you slam something down and stick with that? Comments

-- The best things in life are unseen, thats why we close our eyes when we kiss, wish and dream  I normally visualize mentally an image before drawing it down. But sometimes when I want to visualize something that has more than one element and several things occur at one picture/scene, I use a thumbnail. And sometimes even when I start drawing and use the thumbnail as reference, sometimes, due to my current ability, I do only minor improvisations that deviate from the thumbnail when I do my sketch.

Fan Tan alley is one (if not thee) smallest alley in at least Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. It also has an amazing Used-Record shop. But it used to be a place where you would go find Opium dens. --  IT'S 3:00 AM AND I'M STILL AWAKE!!!---Kate Hedgehog--- "So I can just live with out a spleen?" "Apparently."   I don't know, I think it's pretty good to begin with.
