thoughts + note

do you have to physically see a land, a civilization, a world, to call it real? does seeing something = truth?

if i told you that the world in my head was real, would you call me a nut bag? if i told you i've run through the fields of middle kasimir, stretched in the sands of moriz, watched a double eclipse while ';pitz' fluttered at my feet? i've built my dream.

what's real, anyways? mind experiences vs. body experiences: which is more valid, if any.

oh - to clear up a few notes:

yes, that was a commission for me. and i'm lol'in at everyone flipping out that she has no tail. oh noes, character design! don't even get me started on the whole tail debate.

Ohh, you'd love talking to ~BlastIt about this. He has a helluva lot of interesting ideas pertaining to what's real and what isn't.

I swear our Maths teacher last year became emotionally disturbed after a certain car trip from a tutorial in which he outlined a bunch of his ideas to all and sundry. :giggle:

Incidentally, his name happens to be Tyler.

DA says this would-be critic isn't rich enough to be allowed to write proper critique... but I do it anyway.
Calatona is real to me.

So yes, I agree with your journal.

"Another fantastic person is the famous GearOtter. Check her out on deviantart.com, her art sucks dirt, but she has a posse almost as great as my own, a bunch of friends who suck up to her and get her page views. Go geary."

:aww:
Truesbob "reality", as it stands perceived, is far too overrated.
My own Little Universe has so many different personal stories, villains and heroes that's often times difficult to tell supposed real from purported imaginary.
In truth, we each create our own reality.

I find the reality of my head dangerouse. I have dreams that are false memories. I wake up and have trouble not beliving them. Especially when they are better then reallity, but mostly when they make more sense then it. When they make the most sense they tend to be nightmares.

i feel the same way. always believe in what you know not what others see.

I feel that seeing isn't always believing, and science can't always prove if something exists or doesn't exist. There's just so many things in the universe we don't know about, so we can't really act like we know everything and be so quick to dismiss something as not being real. Just my thought on the topic.
As the mind can only generate a reality as long as the body is still functioning in it's reality, so the body's reality is generally considered real, prior to the minds reality.
However, the minds reality can cease while the body's continues. In mathematics, this is called "inheritances".
Because of this, outside observers will generally consider only the body's reality "real" as it is the one they interact with.

But to the mind, there is not always an observable difference... And if the mind cannot detect a difference, then to the mind there is no difference, and as the reality exist only in the mind, there is no difference in the reality, making it "real" for as long as the mind is occupying it.

...I wonder if this is why people don't know that they are dreaming until they are awake..

There is Real and then there is Real Enough.

To a machine, everything is virtual reality. What are we, but organic machines?
