I love painting my nails. I always love doing themes, like... undersea (seaweed, bubbles, little fish, and sometimes a mermaid on my thumbnail), or film themes (like when Sunshine came out, I had stars, astronauts, and the sun painted on my nails)... it usually takes FOREVER, but it ends up looking AMAZING. And it lasts for at least a week (providing you don't do any heavy-duty work during that time).
Also, listening to orchestral soundtracks. Brokeback Mountain, Mysterious Skin, and the theme from The Good Son are especially soothing.
And, of course, the cure for the common melancholy is a healthy serving of American Beauty.

My simple pleasure is walking into a bathroom full of girls putting on their make-up and taking a gigantic dump. I would feel bad, but they take up all the room of people who have to actually, you know, wash their hands. I do it every morning during the school year, excepting weekends.
oh, and playing the tinwhistle. I suppose that's a far more normal one.

My Simple Pleasure: Getting the First cup of coffee from the pot. It tastes so much better than the old burnt coffee I usually get. It doesn't happen often but it just feels so good.
Bubblebath. The water has to be so hot that it takes like 15 minutes to get in. The bubbles MUST be Sesame Street Watermelon. I need a soda to drink and a Discworld novel to read. I need to be burned pink and tender when I finally get out of the bath. I do this once or twice (or three times) a week.
I secretly love to write the letters J, F, and Z in cursive over and over again. I tend to do it when in front of the computer, or whenever I am stressing out.
